黎家棣

  • Sébastien Lai is a zhongruan player from Hong Kong. He studied at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he specialized in zhongruan performance with Professor Lui Kwan On, and received a Diploma in Performing Arts(Music), Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts(Music) and Professional Diploma in Performing Arts (Music) with Distinction. He received a scholarship from the Hong Kong - Mainland Exchange Scholarship Programme which sponsored by the Hongkong Bank Foundation, and the HKAPA Society Scholarship sponsored by the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. In 2008, he continued his education at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, obtained a Master of Arts for zhongruan performance, where he studied with leading composer and zhongruan soloist Liu Xing, and musicologist Qiao JianZhong. Lai has performed with different performing groups, including the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Chinese Orchestra of The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. As a soloist, he is actively performed around the world. Including London, Prague, Warsaw, Budapest, Brussels, The Hague, Berlin, Frankfurt, Vienna, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai and etc. In 2007, he arranged the Cello Suite no.1 by Johann Sebastian Bach to Daruan, and performed as a soloist in the modern dance Encounter Point, which arranged by Australian choreographer, John Utans, receiving highly favorable reviews from Europe and Singapore. In 2009, Lai recorded his debut release, Moment Musicaux, with Liu Xing and Dabby Pan at Shanghai Radio Studio. His recent performances include zhongruan recital in the Shanghai Oriental Art Center,Live Concert in Suzhou Hua Shan Mountain organized by Bandu Music,Fête de la Musique organized by Ministère des Affaires Etrangères and Piccadilly Revisited organized by 2011 Hong Kong Arts Festival.
